Happy April everyone! March sure seemed to fly by, and it's time once again for a new challenge at House of Cards. You can use the colors above and/or script for your creations this time...have fun with it! Here's what I made:
I made the background by covering some cardstock with a script washi tape, then using a die to cut out the leaves. So easy to do, and a fun and different technique using washi tape. What do you think?
Good day hoppers! If you're here for the House of Cards December hop you're right on track. You should have come from Em's blog. If you need the complete list just hop on back to House of Cards.
Looking at the picture, I was immediately inspired by the pinks and ribbon in the photo.
My first card uses a Deedee's Digis set: Winter Church. I used the precolored image (love these for when I don't feel like coloring!) and one of the papers that comes with the set. I used one of the sentiments on the inside.
For my next card I was intrigued by the interesting design on the tag, as well as the brown. I'm using Great Impressions stamps: Lace Doily J101 and Vintage Merry Christmas D469
Just a quick note that Great Impressions is having a sale, so now would be a great time to stop by and check out the store! Next up on the hop is Heather!
Copic coloring with a simple layout to really show off this cute guy!
I also used some new papers I just bought from Lawn Fawn and Echo Park.
If you're looking for a challenge to get your creativity going, come on over to the Great Impressions blog.
It's always an exciting day, and a bit of a treat, to share that I'm a part of another design team.
Today I'm pleased to announce that I will be joining 4 Crafty Chicks for the month of October as a guest designer!
If you aren't familiar with this challenge, it's weekly and posted every Thursday. I hope you can join in the fun!
Our challenge this week is to use washi tape:
I've been sort of in fall mode lately with other projects, and I also just got this leaf stamp from a Fun Stampers Journey set: Autumn Days; so I decided to make an autumn card. I started out with some glossy cardstock for the leaf background: stamping and embossing the leaves with a copper powder. Then I blended distress inks over the top. The sentiment came from a Stampin Up set: Truly Grateful. The little orange leaves were cut from a piece of ribbon trim. I think they make such cute little accents!
This is a fun card to make. Just lay down some washi tape and stamp over it! Great technique, right?
While this card doesn't use Great Impressions stamps, I thought I'd remind everyone that there is a sale going on this weekend:
I've got another Great Impressions card to share with you today. This one uses a new release: Blue Skies D504 paired with an older one: Hot Air Balloon F549.
My background is very simple: I just used cardstock with a couple pieces of washi tape. I wanted my scene to really be the focal point. The background was done with twinkling H2Os and the rest was colored with Copics.
These little sequins came from somebody in a card swap and I thought they were the perfect size for the image.
Thank you for stopping by today! If you like to use Great Impressions stamps remember that you can post your creations in the Customer Gallery. You may even win something!
