I think it adds a lot of interest.
Time for a new challenge over at House of Cards!
I wanted to use something a little fancier than just a regular straight stitch to really showcase the theme.
I think it adds a lot of interest.
I colored the stamped butterflies with Distress markers, then added Glossy Accents to the bodies. They are popped up with foam tape for a bit of dimension. I had such fun putting together this whole set in a rainbow of colors!
So...how will you be inspired to add sewing to your project?
This is my last post for Pinspirational Challenges. It's hard to believe I've already been on the team for six months! It's been a lot of fun, but I think it's time to focus on some other projects for a while. On with the challenge...
This is a very sweet picture, and it would have been fun to do something with fairy wings but I'm not sure I'm up to that challenge. I'm not quite sure how to capture the iridescence. If any of you fellow crafters have tips you'd like to share, I'd love to hear!

And onto my project...I'm using princess dress card from Creations by AR.
I had to go with springy colors inspired by the picture on this one, so I started off with a blue base for the skirt, adding rows of lace and a stitched hem along the bottom. I chose a floral print for the top from a 6x6 pad from Authentique's Seasons Essentials.(I love that these smaller pads are scaled to a more appropriate size for cards and small projects. I think I've been buying more of those lately than the larger 12x12 sheets.) I used a Martha Stewart punch- Eyelet Lace (or part of it) for the lace details around the neckline and sleeves. Then I added a bit of ribbon, pearls and a bow around the waist, and some pink pearls to the lace. I changed the style of the hat a bit by widening the brim. Then I added a pearl necklace with Perfect Pearls.
I had so much fun with this one that I put together another one...
I love how the lace on the hat turned out on this one.
Then I did another...
Reminds me of playing with paper dolls! I think these will be so cute to use as place cards for a tea party, so that's my plan. Hope you'll get a chance to play along this week at Pinspirational Challenges #104!

I just finished these up for a special order. Pink glitter paper, a fun ballerina patterned paper, a bit of tulle behind the sentiment and a few pink rhinestones along with sewing of course!
I'm starting on a set of thank you cards for post holidays. These use a snowflake background stamp from The Angel Company and a sentiment from Studio G.
I was inspired by this photo from the House of Cards challenge this week:

Your Next Stamp Challenge:
I recently had some friends over for a card making day, and one thing we were working on, was coming up with a design using this sentiment stamp from Momenta.
I had also recently come across this idea on OWH using layered punched strips , and I decided to combine the two. I used the Deco Fan Martha Stewart punch on this one and my Corner Chomper on the sentiment.
I usually have a hard time keeping my cards flat, so I'm proud of myself on this one!
I had made one of these paper pieced snowmen cards earlier and thought that they turned out so cute that I had to do a whole set!
Aren't they just the cutest? The snowman stamp and sentiment is from Unity (One of a Kind Winter). I used mostly My Mind's Eye papers from a 6x6 pad.
