Hello friends! Here's another card I copied from Pinterest...really love this one! I used the Fun Stamper's Journey Newsprint stamp for my background again. Stampin Up's Butterfly Basics for the rest. Colors are Calypso Coral and Crisp Cantaloupe. I used a watercolor brush to color the flowers.
Happy New Year! Welcome back to my studio...
I'm in the middle of a remodel, so excuse the dust!
I packed up my essentials and hauled them into my bedroom so I could create a few cards if the mood strikes,
or in this case, if I had a challenge deadline to meet.
Today starts a new term, and that means a new challenge, at House of Cards. I just love working with this team, and the challenges are always unique and fun...come play along with us!
Here are some wonderful natural colors to inspire you, we'd also love to see embossing in your work!
Knowing I needed to add some birthday cards to my stash, I decided to do a nice wintery masculine design with some Stampin Up sets: the sentiment is from Butterfly Basics, and the pinecones and branches are from Watercolor Winter. I used a Versamark pen on the edge of the green cardstock to add just a hint of gold embossing powder. I also sprayed the white background with a bit of Shimmer Spritz for a very subtle shine. Thanks for stopping in today, and hopefully by my next post I'll be back in my newly refurbished craft room!
It's Friday again, and time for another Great Impressions card.
Paper Sweeties is celebrating their third birthday and the gals from the Great Impressions Design Team are joining in with the festivities! You can too! Just hop on over to the blog and see what's going on today. It's a month-long celebration so be sure to check back regularly!
We were asked to create a card using these colors and photo inspiration.
I created three panels for the background with Distress inks: Shabby Shutters, Victorian Velvet and Tumbled Glass. I sprayed them with shimmer spritz, then spattered some diluted white paint over that. The seam binding and sequins are from Paper Sweeties. I used the E773 Whimsical Wish stamp from Great Impressions.

One thing that seems to get my creativity flowing again is hopping over to Pinterest and copying card ideas.
Here are some using Stampin Up's Big Day set. I've linked each to the original.
The diagonal stripes are a resist paper. I colored it with Distress Stain (Broken China). Stamp colored with Copics.
This is such a fun design with that big bold sentiment front and center! The original was also a CASE!
Fun black and white design with just a bit of color. I made a sparkly white star with some Stickles and cardstock. The little wooden stars were just colored with a Copic marker.
This next one uses some of the Moonlight paper from Stampin Up. I loved this one and it's simplicity and the fact that the cake wasn't colored. (meaning quick and easy for those last minute cards!)
I added gold Stickles for the candle flame.
Another sheet from the Moonlight paper stack on this one. Copic coloring which I know doesn't match the papers perfectly, but I'm still growing my collection of markers.
I think I like the original better than mine.
This next one was fun to do. I love the random cake background along with the bright aqua blue and black combo.
This five card post reminds me of my dear stamping friend Mynn Kitchen and her blog's 5 year anniversary. She's got a giveaway going on right now...come join the fun!
I got this new Stampin Up set recently and am trying it out for the first time.
I stamped the celebrate part onto pink cardstock and cut it out and put it on foam tape. I love just that little bit of dimension! The rest is colored with Copics. The background blue piece was sponged with some distress inks.
